A new £15 million hotel for Aberdeen was a flagship project for Hall and Tawse to be involved in, leading to the opening of the UK’s first Moxy hotel, by Marriott International at the ABZ business park at Dyce.

This six-storey premise has 200 bedrooms tailored for airport users, with Aberdeen Airport being short walking distance of the hotel.

The project demanded swift construction through modularisation and this was a time sensitive contract with strict deadlines to be met. The modular services were connected and external cladding installed to create the finished shell before completing fixed furnishing and fitting out.

Hall and Tawse provided internal doorsets throughout, meeting strict timelines to ensure their part in this prestigious project was completed smoothly and to time for this smart, boutique hotel.

Contracts manager John Walker said:

“The modular nature of the building and the strict adherence to ‘just in time deliveries’ required all of our suppliers to not only commit to the programme dates but ensure they achieved this without failure.

Having worked with Hall and Tawse on a number of projects we were confident they would be able to achieve this and they didn’t let us down.”
